What Happened Before That?
For just a moment, imagine that all of human history on this continent could fit onto the face of a single clock.
The history of the United States would occupy only the last twenty-four minutes.
What happened before that?
This Sunday begins a month exploring Native American wisdom traditions. Rather than trying to summarize hundreds of distinct cultures, we'll slow down and listen through one window into Cherokee wisdom. Along the way, we'll encounter an unexpected invitation.
What if spirituality isn't primarily about improving ourselves?
What if it begins by remembering that we belong?
We'll reflect on what it means to see the earth as family instead of a resource. We'll consider the practice of listening before speaking, waiting before reacting, and paying attention to the wisdom carried not only by the natural world, but also by our own bodies.
In a world that rewards speed, there may be another way to live. A more attentive way. A way that brings clearer water to the choices we make every day.
I'd be honored to have you join us as we begin this journey together.
